If mosquitos are not an issue in the area or at the time of year, these lightweight RainSheets (Tarps) could be an excellent choice.
Taiga RainSheets are waterproof & breathable, and weigh only a minuscule 165g for a 5'x9' size.
Two Rainsheets can be joined to form a shelter for 2-3 people. Since two-man tents usually weigh around 5 lbs., your weight savings could be enormous.
