The Last Great Canadian-Made

Exhaustive research led me here to an amazing product. I'm near 40 years old. I've been winter camping since I was seven. It used to be rare to encounter bad gear in Canada. But, clearly, I think many of us in the outdoor community have seen the opposite trend over the last 25 years, where it is now increasingly difficult to find good gear. However, this sleeping bag is the embodiment of Great Canadian gear. “Thank You” to the whole team! Cheers.

Amazing sleeping bag

I have directly bought 3 for family and helped another 3 people to buy these bags and everyone has absolutely loved them. Compare them with the big name brands made in China or Malaysia and there really is no comparison. The taiga gives you more of a higher quality down (850+ fill power), a water resistant shell, and a better quality bag for less money, plus it’s made in Canada! As a society we are always talking about buying local so when you can get something that is clearly better for less money and buy local, it just makes sense! During winter hikes and backcountry skiing I’ve slept overnight in the BH30-L (-13°C) bag in temps of -15°C (5°F) on more than one occasion and it has performed flawlessly. On those cold nights, I slept wearing good long underwear and a down jacket on top of a good insulated hiking mattress and was cozy all night long. Don’t get me wrong, if you leave an air gap around your head, the cold shoots down to your shoulder like a knife, but thankfully the drawstring lets you zip the bag snugly around your face. I recommend Taiga down sleeping bags to everyone who asks about camping or hiking gear. Fantastic bags!

Perfect for a couple.

We have 2 of these sleeping bags, which fit very well together ‒ no cold spot. They are really made to sleep outside during cold nights. The bags were perfect for our 2-3 days bushcraft outdoor trip in the Canadian winter. They are really high quality, worth the price. It’s hard to find Canadian made sleeping bags these days.
